Leopold Classic Library is delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive collection. As part of our on-going commitment to delivering value to the reader, we have also provided you with a link to a website, where you may download a digital version of this work for free. Many of the books in our collection have been out of print for decades, and therefore have not been accessible to the general public. Whilst the books in this collection have not been hand curated, an aim of our publishing program is to facilitate rapid access to this vast reservoir of literature. As a result of this book being first published many decades ago, it may have occasional imperfections. These imperfections may include poor picture quality, blurred or missing text. While some of these imperfections may have appeared in the original work, others may have resulted from the scanning process that has been applied. However, our view is that this is a significant literary work, which deserves to be brought back into print after many decades. While some publishers have applied optical character recognition (OCR), this approach has its own drawbacks, which include formatting errors, misspelt words, or the presence of inappropriate characters. Our philosophy has been guided by a desire to provide the reader with an experience that is as close as possible to ownership of the original work. We hope that you will enjoy this wonderful classic book, and that the occasional imperfection that it might contain will not detract from the experience.

11/29/2013 4:54pm The Little Savage (Spoiler) Update 10/09/16 4:52a This purchase is the Complete Novel Published in 1848 almost 168 years ago! I have not written a review of the Classics Illustrated Comic published in 1957 and 1970. I just purchased it on 9/15/16.I read this years ago and I tried to find it at the library,
either they didn't have it or it was stolen.
I found a copy at the University of Minnesota
and it was over 100 years old and was falling apart.
I bought this version from Amazon. I wasn't happy with the cover,
it looks nothing like the one I had and all the sketches that
were in the library copy were gone and all the publishing info,
copyright date has been omitted. Still, I am happy to have a
copy of a book I have been wanting for years.
I don't want to give away any real details about the plot,
I really want any reader to go into this book, thinking,
'What is this about?' Then, again, I gave away the clues, already.
I hope others would be able to discover this books great story,
which is very similar to "Robinson Crusoe" and "Swiss Family Robinson."

The Little Savage Frederick Marryat 9781491067857 Books Reviews
A very good book. a little different book than most of his books. This is a book about castasaways. but a good read nonetheless.
The beginning was enjoyable, the later part ok; but the middle was to peachy. To many holes at the end. What was a barren rocky island suddenly had productive land capable of supporting many animals, it disturbed me. I enjoyed the adventures, and the survival parts. Though only two stars, I still recommend you read it.
This is one of my favorite Marryat books. I keep reading Marryat books to find good books for my sons to read. While he writes a lot of exciting books about life on sea, many of them contain themes inappropriate for younger readers, so I'm unable to pass those on to my sons, who are ages 11 and under. This one is an exception, and it's delightful. It's about castaways on a deserted island, but there's a twist that sets it apart from other books with a similar theme. This book is a delight to readers young and old.
When I was a kid, I loved to read comic books. There was a series of comic books called "Classic Comics", that adapted classic works of literature to the comic book form. I read a lot of these, and if I really liked the comic book, I would search for the original book at the library, and read that too. This book is one of the ones I read in it's original form, and I remember I thought it was a great story. When I found it was available on my kindle, I read it again, and guess what? I still think it's a great story, even though I'm about 48 years older. Some of it isn't "politically correct" these days, but it's 163 years old! I think it has great appeal, even after all that time. It made me laugh out loud, and some parts brought tears to my eyes. It's got suspense, and the characters are engaging. (I've even wondered if Edgar Rice Burroughs was influenced by this book when he wrote "Tarzan of the Apes". Both stories involve a boy growing up in the wild, pretty much alone, and having to figure out the world and how to survive in it.) I think this is a gem that has been unjustly forgotten. I highly recommend this book to ages 10 and up.
