FOLIAGE is a unique dystopian horror/sci-fi short story that follows four weary travelers, led by the one they call "The Preacher", seeking refuge in the countryside from an unknown contagion that has brought widespread death and bizarre transformations to the Earth's population. They stumble upon a cabin and prepare for nightfall, wondering if they are the last ones left alive, how long they will survive, and what they will encounter in the days to come; pushing away nightmarish memories and grotesque visions of those who have transformed...
FOLIAGE is well-paced, unraveling its mysteries as the story progresses, and steadily building tension and horror. I commend Jameson for packing so much story into such a short space. Once the action sets in, its a fun, compelling read, reminiscent of cabin-in-the-woods type horror films. Descriptively gory in parts, this short story should satiate gorehounds.
