An ancient secret is no match for amateur sleuth and professional trouble magnet Lexi Carmichael!

My work as a computer geek has me traveling around the world, solving mysteries and fighting bad guys. Sometimes with my friends, but always with trouble by my side. So you'd think I would've expected to be plagued by danger when I headed to Egypt with my best friend, Elvis Zimmerman, and boyfriend, Slash, to help track down Elvis's missing and estranged father. Nope.

Genius runs in the family, and we quickly discovered Elvis's father is hot on the trail of an ancient and elusive artifact…one that people are willing to kill to find. Tombs, tablets and code come together as we follow a set of clues that has been waiting millennia to be discovered.

Cracking code is my specialty, but I never expected to tackle one from fifteen hundred years before the advent of written language. The sands of time are running out. If the artifact falls into the wrong hands, we won't be able to rewrite history. So it's up to us to find and safeguard the secret to ensure no living soul ever encounters it…again.

Don't miss the adventure that started it all No One Lives Twice is available now!

This book is approximately 92,000 words

When Elvis Zimmerman’s estranged father sends Elvis a package along with a mysterious code, Elvis is concerned and very wary. After all, he has had no contact with his father for many years. After Elvis decodes the message, he knows there is major trouble brewing. With the help of new friend and microbiologist Gwen, he examines the package’s contents and realizes just how bad things could get if the contents were to fall into the wrong hands. When Lexi and Slash hear what’s at stake, they pack up and accompany Elvis and Gwen to Egypt to locate his father and do what it takes to contain the problem.

No Living Soul by Julie Moffett is the ninth book in the highly entertaining Lexi Carmichael Mystery series. The author has filled her books with engaging characters, suspenseful and well-plotted mysteries, and interesting locales. Lexi is one of my favorite protagonists. She is extremely intelligent with amazing tech skills. (I would love to have even one-tenth of her skills! LOL!) Although the characters have stayed true to themselves throughout the series, Ms. Moffett has allowed them to grow—and that’s a very good thing. I love Slash and Lexi together—they have quickly become one of my favorite book couples. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Gwen and hope she becomes a regular. She’s a great match for Elvis.

I strongly recommend these books. If you give them a try, I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. I’m looking forward to Book 10. Happy reading!

No Living Soul A Lexi Carmichael Mystery Book Nine edition by Julie Moffett Romance eBooks Reviews

This was the best one yet. At first, Lexi is portrayed as more of a geek who has trouble fitting in (earlier books). But she has definitely evolved. She now has a boyfriend, Slash, with whom she is planning to live; she has friends who love and care about her and she even has a fandom!. She is so much more than just a geek. In this book, she and Slash and Elvis and his new friend Gwen set out to save the world again, this time in Egypt. It has some extremely funny scenes--the one in the bathroom with Guido the dog and the one where she is trapped on a runaway camel named Arnold. She and Slash are a couple of true partners and work perfectly together to both discover the secrets that Arthur, Elvis and Xavier's father was looking for and save civilization. Can't wait to see how their relationship progresses as well as what their next adventure will be. I just adore this series and all the characters!
What I enjoyed about this latest Lexi story is that the characters are well-established and you can enjoy them in a new exotic locale. Moffett does a really good job of making a familiar plot (Indiana Jones meets Dan Brown's Inferno) and grounding it with the relationships and quirky bits of behavior from Lexi, Slash and Elvis. As Lexi goes careening about in Cairo cab, you feel it, enjoy being on this puzzle solving mystery with them. At the same time, the story moves each of the characters forward. I liked that I couldn't tell where certain new character's loyalties lie, that Lexi is having difficulty dealing with fangirls, and Slash continues to be superlative in everyway. It was a pretty fast paced book and it was fun to learn some history along the way. All in all, one of my favorite Lexi books.
Ok - I am a 'fan girl' for this series. They are bright, well written, humorous at times and action packed. I like the fact the heroine - and her friends - continue to grow in each novel. I liked the introduction of a new love interest for Elvis (she's a keeper, Elvis!). The descriptions of Egypt made me want to visit - except for the sweat-inducing heat!! I love this series so much, I have already re-read a major portion of it. I was so excited to get the new offering, I didn't (as I usually do) go back and re-read the previous offering but I will do that because I get so excited when a new Lexi is released, I read so quickly that a second reading brings out even more nuances.......Lexicon - great name for Lexi's fans.
Julie Moffett never fails me. No Living Soul was hilarious, adventurous and romantic, not to mention thought provoking. They mystery was outstanding but as always for me, it was the characters who stole the show. Not only to we see a new step in the evolution of the relationship between Lexi and Slash but we get to see Elvis taking a few more steps away from her. I love that Ms. Moffett lets him grow rather than leaving him clinging to his crush on his best friend.
An amazing and terrifying package from Elvis's long estrange father sends a group of the friends to Egypt where the drivers may be as terrifying as those trying to still the secret uncovered by the twin's father. New friends and new enemies provide additional draw to this already outstanding ninth book in the Lexi Carmichael Series.
Already the 9th Lexi Carmichael book and they keep up the great pace and plotting.

It is just before the wedding of Basia and Xavier and Lexi is packing up to move to her new home, with Slash. I love how their relationship is building and how well he knows her. There are some hilarious moments in the first chapters, before another adventure starts brewing.

Elvis has received a package from his long-absent father and the contents are enough to raise alarm bells and have Elvis, Lexi and Slash flying to Egypt to find Mr Zimmermann. With them travels a new character, Gwen. She is a colleague of Elvis and a big fan of Lexi -) I won't spoil too much about that. I liked Gwen a lot.

I was - again - amazed at the research that must have gone into this book. I could not stop reading as the story moved on in a fast pace. I have been to Egypt once a long time ago but it seemed spot on to me. The story is once more a nice mix of adventure and personal growth.
We learn more about Elvis and there are some wonderful moments between Lexi and Slash. I feel Lexi is still growing and changing and I love her!
